Manchester United have reportedly been told that Real Madrid would not consider an offer of under €250m (£215m) for Brazilian attacker Vinicius Junior.

There has recently been speculation surrounding the 23-year-old's future, with Man United believed to be exploring the possibility of bringing him to Old Trafford.

Vinicius is one of Real Madrid's most important players, and despite some injury problems this season, he has still managed to contribute nine goals and four assists in 17 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

The Brazilian is playing in a front two this term, largely alongside Rodrygo, but it is believed that head coach Carlo Ancelotti will switch back to a 4-3-3 for next season, with Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe potentially arriving on a free transfer.

A recent report claimed that a deal for Mbappe, who operates in Vinicius's favoured left-sided attacking role, could mean that Real Madrid would be willing to entertain a huge offer for their number seven.

Defensa Central claimed that Man United would be prepared to pay as much as €150m (£130m) for Vinicius, who signed a new contract with Real Madrid last October, which includes a release clause of €1bn (£860m).

However, according to ESPN Brasil, only bids of at least €250m (£215m) would be considered for the South American due to his importance to the club.

Real Madrid are believed to view Vinicius as 'untouchable', but there have been suggestions that club president Florentino Perez would consider a sale if it made financial sense.

Vinicius has won 10 trophies at Bernabeu since arriving from Flamengo in 2018, including two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the forward has represented Los Blancos on 242 occasions in all competitions, scoring 68 goals and registering 68 assists in the process.

Vinicius has 17 goals and 20 assists in 49 Champions League appearances, while he has managed 38 goals and 33 assists in 161 outings in Spain's top flight.

Man United are expected to be busy during this summer's transfer window, with incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe said to be determined to bring in an elite forward.

Rasmus Hojlund has scored seven times in his first season at the club, but Anthony Martial is set to leave on a free transfer this summer.

Man United are also believed to be keeping a close eye on Ivan Toney's situation at Brentford, with Erik ten Hag's side potentially being in the race for his signature during this summer's transfer window. body check tags ::
