Manchester United have been unfazed by the price tag placed on Jurrien Timber's head by Ajax, according to a report.
New United boss Erik ten Hag is rumoured to be interested in raiding his former club to bring the 20-year-old to Old Trafford this summer, as the Dutchman looks to strengthen his defence ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
Recent reports in the Netherlands have suggested that Timber could well be swaying towards extending his stay in Amsterdam, largely due to his guaranteed playing time at the Johan Cruyff Arena, compared with the likely challenge for a first-team spot at Old Trafford.
As a result of United's interest, Ajax are said to have set an asking price of £36m for the defender, but the Mirror are reporting that the Red Devils have not been put off by that fee.
Ten Hag could well be looking to fund a move for Timber via the sales of fellow central defenders Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe, who the 52-year-old has reportedly told they can leave the club this summer due to not being part of his plans.
Timber made 30 Eredivisie appearances in the Netherlands during the 2021-22 campaign, helping his side to keep 16 clean sheets during those games, which helped Ajax retain their Eredivisie crown. body check tags ::
