Manchester United and Liverpool could reportedly battle for the signature of Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez during next summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for the Cherries during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring once and providing two assists in 19 Premier League appearances, and he is believed to be on the radar of a number of major clubs.

Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the Hungary international, while Man United are said to be tracking him, with the Red Devils looking to sign a left-sided wing-back.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are also huge admirers of Kerkez and are ready to rival Man United for his signature during next summer's transfer window.

The Reds are looking for a long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson and are said to have identified Kerkez as the ideal acquisition, with a £50m switch potentially taking place at the end of the campaign.

Man United, Liverpool 'in competition' for Kerkez

Bournemouth will allegedly refuse to listen to offers of under £50m for Kerkez, with the Cherries prepared to hold firm on their valuation due to the growing interest in his services.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be keeping a close eye on his situation, although Man United and Liverpool are believed to be at the head of the queue at this moment in time.

Kerkez said in a recent interview with the Guardian: "I believe I can make it at the top level of football."

The youngster scored five times and registered eight assists in 57 matches for AZ Alkmaar before making the move to Bournemouth, and he has now represented his current side on 52 occasions, scoring once and providing three assists in the process.

Amorim 'desperate' to bring a new left-back to Man United

While Liverpool are looking for a long-term Robertson replacement, Man United are bidding to sign a left-back due to Luke Shaw's ongoing muscular problems, coupled with Tyrell Malacia's disappointing form.

Shaw is once again on the sidelines, having missed the end of last season and the start of this term with a muscular issue, while Malacia has struggled since returning from a long-term knee injury.

Diogo Dalot continues to find it difficult in that area of the field, and Man United head coach Ruben Amorim is believed to have made a left-sided wing-back an absolute priority for this year.

Bournemouth are having an excellent campaign, though, currently sitting in seventh spot in the Premier League table, with the club battling to secure European football for next term.

As a result, it is incredibly unlikely that a deal would take place in January, also factoring in Man United's financial issues, but a transfer at the end of the 2024-25 campaign looks to be a serious possibility. body check tags ::
