Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sell both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof during this summer's transfer window to make way for a new central defender.
Neither Maguire nor Lindelof are considered to be a part of Erik ten Hag's strongest XI at Old Trafford, with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez forming an impressive partnership in the middle of the defence during the 2022-23 campaign.
Luke Shaw has also been used as a centre-back this season, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding the futures of Maguire and Lindelof in recent weeks.
Maguire is said to be the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United, while Inter Milan are currently being heavily linked with a move for Lindelof.
According to Football Insider, the 20-time English champions would be willing to let both Maguire and Lindelof leave the club for the right prices this summer.
The report claims that Napoli's Kim Min-jae is viewed as Man United's leading centre-back target this summer, with Ten Hag wanting to bring in serious competition for Martinez and Varane.
Maguire will make his 24th appearance of the season in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final with Fulham, as Varane has been ruled out of the contest at Old Trafford through injury.
"He's injured," Ten Hag told MUTV when questioned on Varane's absence against the Cottagers. "It's difficult to say but I think it's something small. I think he'll recover and be back after the international break."
Meanwhile, the head coach told ITV in a separate interview ahead of kickoff: "Rapha Varane is, together with Licha, a very good partnership, but we have good [players] behind as well, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. I think we have a good squad there."
Maguire has only featured on 11 occasions in the Premier League, though, and it is understood that Ten Hag has instructed the club to sell him this summer.
Lindelof has made 21 appearances at club level this season, but he has also struggled for Premier League outings, playing only nine times in England's top flight.
A number of clubs have been linked with the 28-year-old, but it is believed that the strongest interest is currently arriving from Serie A in the shape of Inter.
Lindelof has started just once in the league since the start of January, while he was only a late substitute against Real Betis in the Europa League last time out despite Man United having a strong advantage in the tie.
The extent of Man United's transfer business this summer is unclear at this stage, as the Glazers are currently in discussions over a sale of the club.
However, there are expected to be funds available for a new centre-forward and central midfielder, with England duo Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham being heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford.
