Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly keen to join West Ham United if a deal can be agreed between the two clubs.
The England international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order at Man United last term.
Erik ten Hag preferred to use Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane as his two centre-backs, restricting Maguire to just eight Premier League starts during the 2022-23 campaign.
Maguire, who has been replaced as club captain by Bruno Fernandes, is prepared to leave the club in search of regular playing time ahead of Euro 2024 next summer.
West Ham have emerged as frontrunners for his signature, but they saw their initial £20m bid rejected by the Red Devils.
The Hammers have not given up their pursuit, and have since returned to negotiations with an improved £30m offer.
According to the Evening Standard, the England international would be open to joining West Ham if the two clubs can finalise a deal.
The report claims that Maguire is excited by the prospect of working under West Ham boss David Moyes, who has made the defender one of his top targets.
West Ham will be unable to match Maguire's current £190,000-a-week wage, but they are hopeful that they can agree a deal where Man United help cover his salary.
The Hammers are also interested in signing Maguire's Man United teammate Scott McTominay, as they look to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Declan Rice.
However, West Ham saw their £30m bid for the Scotland international turned down, with Man United holding out for a fee in the region of £45m.
Having failed to make an impression in the transfer window, West Ham are about to get their summer spending underway with the addition of Edson Alvarez.
