Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Newcastle United regarding the potential signing of Sean Longstaff.
The academy graduate has only made a total of 13 appearances in the Magpies first team, which includes eight starts in the Premier League.
However, United have been frequently linked with the 21-year-old for a number of weeks as they look to add young English talent to their squad.
According to Sky Sports News, discussions were held between the two clubs at the weekend, where Newcastle informed the North-West giants that they were not interested in a sale.
Longstaff, who has three years left on his contract, has previously said that he is only focused on trying to hold down a place in Newcastle's starting lineup.
