Manchester United have reportedly established contact with the agent of Arturo Vidal over a potential transfer in the January transfer window.
The Chile international is said to be open to leaving Barcelona after being reduced to only three starts in La Liga so far this season.
United have a long-standing interest in Vidal, with the club hotly pursuing the midfielder in the summer of 2014, only for Bayern Munich to secure his signature instead.
According to FcInterNews, United have contacted Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich over a potential move.
The club already has a working relationship with Felicevich, who brokered Alexis Sanchez's move to Old Trafford in January 2018.
Barcelona are said to be open to dispensing with Vidal in January due to a bloated midfield, with seven players competing for three spots.
