Manchester United are reportedly set to do battle with Real Madrid for the signature of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The 17-year-old is said to have attracted the attention of a number of top European sides following an impressive campaign for the Ligue 1 outfit.
Madrid have long been credited with an interest in Camavinga, who turned out 36 times for Rennes before the French football season ended early amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, according to Metro, United may have the advantage in negotiations for the midfielder as they are willing to loan him back to Rennes for the 2020-21 campaign.
Nevertheless, the Ligue 1 outfit are supposedly holding out for a £60m fee for the teenager, but United are said to be hopeful of striking a £25m deal.
Amid the financial implications of the COVID-19 outbreak, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have allegedly taken out a £140m loan in order to aid their pursuits of long-term targets such as Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane and Saul Niguez.
