Manchester United have announced that goalkeeper Joel Pereira has joined Rochdale on a one-month youth loan.
The Portugal Under-19s international, who joined the club's academy in 2012, made nine appearances for the team's Under-21s last season, and has been the reserves' regular keeper so far this season.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill told the League One side's website: "I'm really pleased to be working with him. He's an excellent goalkeeper. His distribution is flamboyant and his ability in goal is absolutely magnificent. He comes in to push Josh [Lillis] and Johny [Diba]."
Goalkeeping coach Steve Collis added: "Joel is at Manchester United for a reason. He comes highly recommended. We got a chance to see him in the Lancashire Senior Cup when we played against United at Altrincham in the summer and he looked to be an exciting goalkeeper. We're bringing him in to enhance our goalkeeping department."
Rochdale currently sit ninth in League One.
