Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €120m (£103m) bid for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.
The 23-year-old made the move to Los Blancos from Santos in 2019, and he has represented the capital giants on 207 occasions, scoring 52 goals and registering 40 assists in the process.
Rodrygo has again been an important player for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season, making 42 appearances, scoring 15 goals and contributing eight assists.
The Brazil international only signed a new long-term contract at Bernabeu last November, with his terms due to run until the summer of 2028, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future.
Both Arsenal and Man United have allegedly been keeping a close eye on Rodrygo's situation, as he could potentially become attainable if Kylian Mbappe, as expected, makes the move to the Spanish capital when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires this summer.
Man United preparing record-breaking offer?
According to Fichajes, Man United are willing to make Rodrygo their most expensive signing of all time, with the club lining up a €120m (£103m) offer.
The report claims that the Red Devils would be willing to go to €150m (£129m) in order to secure the services of a player who has two La Liga titles and one Champions League to his name.
Rodrygo's ability to play in a number of different forward positions is believed to make him an even more attractive proposition for Man United, who will sign at least one new attacker this summer.
The Brazilian's future at Real Madrid is likely to depend on head coach Ancelotti's plans in terms of his formation moving forward, with Mbappe's expected arrival potentially seeing the team switch back to a 4-3-3.
What else are Man United planning this summer?
Man United's hopes of securing Champions League football for next season have faded after dropping five points in their last two matches against Brentford and Chelsea.
However, the Red Devils are still expected to be active during this summer's transfer window under the guidance of their new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team.
A new centre-back will be a priority, with both Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans out of contract this summer, while there have also been claims that a left-back will arrive due to the club's injury problems in that area.
A central midfielder is also set to be targeted amid claims that Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will move on, while Sofyan Amrabat is expected to head back to loan club Fiorentina this summer.
A centre-forward to support Rasmus Hojlund is also required, with Anthony Martial set to leave on a free transfer, and Rodrygo has operated through the middle for Real Madrid during the 2023-24 campaign following the surprise departure of Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia last summer. body check tags ::
