Manchester United have reportedly been offered a swap deal by Tottenham Hotspur for Toby Alderweireld and Anthony Martial this summer.
United have begun negotiations over a £55m deal for Alderweireld, who is entering the final year of his contract with Spurs and is yet to agree terms on an extension.
Spurs have reportedly demanded a £75m fee, equal to that which Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk in January, but ESPN reports that they would be willing to take Martial as part of the deal.
Martial has been linked with a move away from United this summer after falling down the pecking order since Alexis Sanchez's arrival, starting only four Premier League matches since the end of January.
However, United manager Jose Mourinho is reluctant to let Martial leave to a direct Premier League rival and will therefore refuse to include him in any deal to bring Alderweireld to Old Trafford.
Martial has scored 11 goals and assisted nine more in 45 appearances across all competitions this season.
