Manchester United have reportedly emerged as one of three clubs to express interest in Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal ahead of the January transfer window.
Manager Ernesto Valverde recognises the need to address a bloated squad at Camp Nou and is willing to part ways with Vidal, with Ivan Rakitic also welcome to leave.
United are in need of midfield reinforcements following the club's decision to dispense with - and failure to replace - Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini over the past year.
According to a report from Spain, the Red Devils are among the parties keeping a close eye on Vidal's situation ahead of the January transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are said to be the other two teams who are keen on the Chile international.
United were heavily linked with Vidal in the summer of 2014, only for the player to join Bayern Munich instead.
