Manchester United are reportedly considering a £120m double swoop for Argentine duo Lautaro Martinez and Leandro Paredes.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his squad in January following a disappointing first half of the campaign which has seen them win only six of their opening 16 league matches.
The likes of Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, and The Mirror reports that the 20-time champions of England have added Martinez and Paredes to their shortlist.
Martinez has established himself as one of Europe's most in-form strikers with eight Serie A goals and five in the Champions League already this season and is understood to be open to a move following Inter Milan's failure to qualify for the knockout stages of the latter tournament.
Barcelona reportedly view Martinez as an ideal long-term successor to Luis Suarez, but United could look to beat the Spanish giants to the 22-year-old in January.
Paredes could be free to leave Paris Saint-Germain having failed to work his way into Thomas Tuchel's plans at the Parc des Princes, making just four appearances across all competitions so far this season.
PSG are thought to be looking at potential midfield reinforcements themselves in January, including Napoli's Allan, which would likely open the door for 24-year-old Paredes to leave.
Both players meet Solskjaer's criteria for transfer targets of young players with room for improvement, rather than bringing in established big-name signings.
