Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch the son of former Manchester City player Alf-Inge Haaland.

Erling Haaland currently plies his trade for Molde in Norway, where his performances have attracted the interest of a number of Europe's top clubs.

United have scouted the 17-year-old on a number of occasions already, the latest of which came in Sunday's clash with Valarenga.

The Red Devils are thought to have been impressed with the youngster's performance too after he scored twice and helped to create another during a 5-1 win for Molde.

United are reportedly considering moving quickly for the Norwegian in an effort to steal a march over other potential suitors.

Haaland's father Alf-Inge spent a decade playing in England with Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Man City, and was involved in one of the most infamous incidents in Premier League history when he was on the end of a knee-high Roy Keane challenge during a Manchester derby.
