Manchester United have reportedly held discussions with the representatives of Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.
As a result of continued speculation regarding the future of Paul Pogba and a long-term injury to Scott McTominay, United may attempt to sign a new midfielder during the January window.
According to Corriere della Sera, Vidal has been identified as a potential signing with the Chilean seemingly likely to depart Camp Nou.
While the 32-year-old remains an important part of Ernesto Valverde's squad, more than half of his 73 appearances have come from the substitutes' bench.
The report claims that United, as well as Inter Milan, have held talks with agent Fernando Felicevich regarding a £17m deal.
Vidal has just 18 months remaining on his contract at the Catalan giants.
