Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Dynamo Moscow forward Aleksandr Kokorin.
United manager Louis van Gaal is believed to be keen to bring an attacking player to Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts in 12 days' time.
The Red Devils were thought to be closing in on Barcelona winger Pedro, but they have since pulled out of a deal, while Southampton's Sadio Mane is believed to be on their radar.
Now, according to Russian news agency TASS, the Premier League giants have opened talks with Kokorin's representatives, but United face competition from Spurs who are also believed to have contacted the player.
United have signed Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and goalkeeper Sergio Romero so far this summer, while Tottenham have added Kevin Wimmer, Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld and Clinton N'Jie to their squad.
