Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer Crystal Palace the chance to re-sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of a deal which could see Michael Olise move to Old Trafford.

Olise's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with a number of clubs, including Chelsea, said to be keen to sign him during this summer's transfer window.

Chelsea are believed to have triggered a £35m release clause in the 22-year-old's contract last year, but the move ultimately broke down, with Olise signing a new contract at Selhurst Park.

There is believed to be a new buy-out fee in his deal, with ESPN putting the figure between £50m and £60m, and Man United are said to be at the head of the queue to sign him in the upcoming market.

The Red Devils will not be active in next season's Champions League, though, and head coach Erik ten Hag has admitted that will have an impact on the finances for this summer.

Man United 'favourites to sign Michael Olise'

Olise has struggled with injuries during the 2023-24 campaign, but he has still contributed seven goals and four assists in 16 Premier League appearances.

Meanwhile, the attacker has 13 goals and 23 assists in 87 appearances for Palace since making the move to Selhurst Park from Reading in the summer of 2021.

Olise has largely played off the right for the Eagles this season, but he is also capable of operating through the middle, and his versatility is thought to make him an even more attractive signing for Man United.

The Red Devils are believed to be planning to sell both Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho this summer, while Antony could also be allowed to leave for the right price.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 'could return to Palace this summer'

Man United will have to be inventive in the transfer market this summer due to their finances taking a hit after failing to qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League.

Meanwhile, the Premier League's rules surrounding profit and sustainability will also make it difficult for the club to spend at the level which is perhaps required for them to be competitive at the top end of the Premier League table next season.

As a result, it is understood that Wan-Bissaka could be offered back to Palace as a makeweight in the Olise deal, with the 26-year-old likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The right-back, who joined the Red Devils from Palace in the summer of 2019, has made 25 appearances for Man United this season, having benefitted from the team's defensive injuries.

Wan-Bissaka's contract is up next summer, though, and Palace are believed to be interested in re-signing a player who represented them on 46 occasions before moving to Man United. body check tags ::
