Manchester United are reportedly considering whether to reignite their interest in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
While the Premier League giants have been linked with the Netherlands international in the past, it has recently been suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is focusing his attention on other targets.
That seemingly left Real Madrid with a clear path to the 23-year-old, who contributed 10 goals and six assists in the Eredivisie and Champions League this season.
However, according to De Telegraaf, Real are unwilling to conclude a deal at this stage due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
Having continued to monitor the situation, United may now capitalise on the situation, showing a willingness to pay £44.5m for the player.
Although Real will likely be given another chance to seal the services of Van de Beek, the report hints that they will only be successful if they are willing to finalise the transfer in the coming weeks.
