Manchester United are reportedly ready to lodge an improved offer of £20m to Arsenal for striker Robin van Persie.
The former Premier League champions have become the front-runners to sign the prolific forward after Manchester City and Juventus appeared to cool their interest in the 29-year-old.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson recently claimed that he was unsure over the Gunners' willingness to sell the striker. However, it has not prevented the Scotsman from planning another bid this week, according to the Daily Star.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that the North London club have a good chance of keeping the Netherlands international.
