Manchester United are reportedly yet to receive a permanent offer from Roma for defender Chris Smalling.
The 29-year-old joined the Giallorossi on loan at the start of the season after falling down the pecking order at United and he has impressed Paulo Fonseca thus far with his workrate and leadership.
Roma are thought to be keen on completing a £10m deal for the defender next summer, but Sky Sports News reports that no discussions have taken place between the two clubs yet.
Smalling's current contract at Old Trafford has another two-and-a-half years on it, with United retaining the option to extend it by another year.
Since joining from Fulham in 2010, Smalling has made more than 300 appearances for the Red Devils, winning two Premier Leagues, one FA Cup, one EFL Cup and one Europa League title.
