Manchester United and Chelsea would reportedly have to pay in the region of £30m to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya during this summer's transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been in strong form for the Bees during the 2022-23 campaign, keeping eight clean sheets in 24 Premier League appearances, with Thomas Frank's side currently ninth in the table.

Raya has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Brentford Community Stadium, though, and there is currently widespread speculation surrounding his future.

The Spain international recently revealed that he has rejected two separate offers from Brentford, and he also suggested that he could be on the move during this summer's transfer window.

"I turned down two contracts, one last year and one this January. They weren't the offers we were looking for. I can only say that," Raya told The Athletic last month.

"I have a contract here, so I'm willing to finish that, but you never know what's going to happen in the summer. Maybe the club wants to sell, maybe not. Maybe I want to stay. I want to focus on football and see what happens.

"I have big ambitions. I want to play in Europe and I want to fight to win a title. I want to fight to win a European title. I trust myself to be able to play in those types of games."

Brentford boss Frank has admitted that his team will struggle to keep hold of Raya, telling reporters on Friday: "I think we need to get into the Champions League and then he would consider it! I love David as a keeper. I really believe he is one of the best in the Premier League.

"If someone wants to come and buy him, he is very expensive. He will be, for me, at least £40m-plus. No doubt about that.

"No matter what happens, we will be able to at least contact a replacement. They don't always want to come, but we do our best to persuade them. But of course we are prepared for any scenario."

However, despite Frank valuing Raya at £40m, Brentford would be willing to accept offers in the region of £30m during this summer's transfer window, according to 90min.

The report claims that the Bees are not prepared to sell the Spaniard on the cheap, and they would be willing to keep him for another campaign and risk losing the stopper for nothing in the summer of 2024.

David de Gea is expected to soon pen a new deal at Man United, but the Spaniard's ball-playing abilities continue to be questioned, and it is believed that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is keen to bring in another goalkeeper in the near future.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter, meanwhile, is said to be unconvinced by either Edouard Mendy or Kepa Arrizabalaga, which is likely to lead to a new goalkeeper arriving at Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window. body check tags ::
