Manchester United are reportedly ready to explore the possibility of signing River Plate attacker Nicolas De La Cruz during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals and registered 28 assists in 118 appearances for his current club since arriving from Liverpool Montevideo in 2017.

According to TNT Sports, the Red Devils are one of five clubs interested in signing De La Cruz, who could be available for between €16m (£13.7m) and €20m (£17.2m) in the current market.

The report claims that the deal has been recommended to Man United by Edinson Cavani, who is playing alongside the attacker for Uruguay at this summer's Copa America.

De La Cruz, who only has 18 months left to run on his current deal with River, is capable of operating in a number of different positions in the final third of the field.

Fiorentina are one of the other clubs believed to be showing an interest, while Everton were linked with his services last year. body check tags ::
