Manchester United have reportedly informed Estudiantes that they will have to come up with an offer of £9.5m to sign Marcos Rojo on a permanent deal this summer.
Rojo joined Estudiantes on loan in January, but he only made one appearance for the Argentine outfit before the coronavirus outbreak halted the majority of football across the globe.
The centre-back's loan club recently claimed that he wants to stay in South America, although it has since been suggested that the 30-year-old could return to Manchester at the end of June.
Rojo's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next summer, and there remains speculation surrounding his future ahead of the return of Premier League action later this month.
According to El Dia, Estudiantes are determined to keep hold of the defender, but they will have to come up with an offer of £9.5m to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.
Boca Juniors are also believed to be keeping a close eye on developments.
