Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has said that the club are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Leon Goretzka over a new contract "within the next week".
The Germany international's current deal at Allianz Arena is due to expire next June, and there have been suggestions that discussions between the two parties have stalled.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with the midfielder, and a recent report claimed that the Red Devils had tabled a £200,000-a-week contract offer to the 26-year-old.
However, Hainer is hopeful that Bayern will reach agreements with Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in the near future.
"As you know, they (Goretzka and Kimmich) went on holiday after the European Championship. They were back yesterday in the training sessions. Now we have time to talk to them. And hopefully, within the next week, we will find agreements with them," Hainer told Goal.
Goretzka, who has also been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, scored eight times and registered nine assists in 32 appearances for Bayern during the 2020-21 campaign. body check tags ::
