Manchester United could make a move to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly considering reigniting their interest in Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Following the club's failure to secure a deal for Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong last summer, Rabiot was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford, with the Red Devils thought to have agreed a deal with Juventus.

However, it is believed that the Frenchman's substantial wage demands prevented the deal from going through, with Rabiot's agent and mother Veronique Rabiot pricing the midfielder out of a move.

Man United ultimately switched their attention to Casemiro, while Christian Eriksen also arrived last summer to boost Erik ten Hag's midfield.

The Red Devils are thought to be looking to sign at least one new midfielder in the upcoming market, as Scott McTominay could potentially depart in search of regular starts.

According to Football Transfers, Man United have placed Rabiot 'on the list', with the midfielder, as it stands, set to be available on a free transfer at the end of June.

The Frenchman has entered the final six months of his deal in Turin and is believed to be leaning towards leaving the Italian giants this summer in search of pastures new.

Rabiot has been an important player for the Old Lady during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring six goals and registering two assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.

A recent report claimed that Liverpool were also interested in the midfielder, who would be one of the most attractive free agents on the market if he did run down his contract at Juventus.

"I'm here at Juve, focused on my performances. I'm not thinking of my contract now - we will see how talks will go in the next months," Rabiot told Sky Italia when questioned on his future.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder 'dreams' of moving to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea also clubs previously linked with his services.

Speaking towards the end of last year, Rabiot confirmed that "there were contacts with Premier League clubs" during the summer of 2022.

"It's true, there were contacts with Premier League clubs, but in the end, I was lucky to stay, perhaps it was the best decision," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The Premier League is the most followed league, but I don't think about the future. I am focused on the World Cup. The club and I are in no hurry, there's serenity so we can consider all options."

Rabiot has represented Juventus on 154 occasions, contributing 12 goals and eight assists in the process, since making the move to Turin from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. body check tags ::
