Krylia Sovetov forward Aleksandr Sobolev has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United.
The Red Devils did not sign a new striker during the summer transfer window despite allowing Romelu Lukaku and then Alexis Sanchez to leave the club, with the pair both joining Inter Milan.
Anthony Martial remains on the sidelines through injury, leaving 17-year-old Mason Greenwood as the only other option to Marcus Rashford, who has struggled for form this season.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently admitted that his team would be looking to sign a new striker when the January transfer window opens for business.
The likes of Lyon's Moussa Dembele and Juventus' Mario Mandzukic have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, but according to The Sun, the Red Devils are also monitoring Sobolev.
The report claims that scouts from the 20-time English champions have watched the Russia Under-21 international during the 2019-20 campaign, where he has managed eight goals in the Russian Premier League.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that his Samara-based club would be open to offers of above £15m, making him an affordable option for Solskjaer's team at the start of 2020.
Sobolev, who stands at 6ft 5in, has scored 19 times in 38 appearances for his current club since arriving from Tom Tomsk.
