Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic reportedly rejected the chance to join Manchester United this summer as he did not feel that he had the full trust of Jose Mourinho.
The Croatia international, who netted at both ends in his country's World Cup final loss to France, is said to have been targeted to give the Red Devils a different option up top.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claims that the 32-year-old spurned United's advances, though, instead preferring to continue working under Massimiliano Allegri at the Allianz Stadium.
Mandzukic netted for Juve in their 2-0 win over Lazio on his first Serie A start of the season on Saturday.
Mourinho is also rumoured to have been knocked back in his pursuit of Gareth Bale, Ivan Perisic, Diego Godin, Toby Alderweireld and Antoine Griezmann since the end of last season.
