Clubs in England have allegedly shown an interest in signing Mason Greenwood ahead of his departure from Old Trafford.
Following a lengthy internal investigation into allegations against the 21-year-old, Man United announced on Monday that he would be leaving the club to restart his career elsewhere.
Greenwood was suspended by the Red Devils until further notice in January 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of rape and assault, having been named in online accusations posted by a woman.
The one-cap England international was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill, before being charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood in February, as the withdrawal of key witnesses and emergence of new material meant that there was no longer a realistic chance of conviction.
The striker was seen training individually as Man United conducted their own review, and the Red Devils were allegedly receiving data from the sessions ahead of his potential re-integration.
News of Greenwood's possible return sparked huge backlash, though, and Man United have now announced that the 21-year-old has played his last game for the Red Devils.
With Greenwood still contracted to Erik ten Hag's team until 2025 with the option of another 12 months, ESPN claims that clubs in England and foreign teams have registered their interest in signing him, either on loan or permanently.
Man United are keen to resolve Greenwood's future before the transfer window slams shut on September 1, otherwise both parties will likely agree to mutually terminate his contract.
At this stage, a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey is thought to be the most realistic outcome for Greenwood, who has also become a father since his initial arrest and suspension.
While Man United do not intend to receive any cash for Greenwood's exit, the report adds that the club will hold internal talks about the best way to use any funds generated from his sale.
The attacker will depart the club having scored 35 goals and set up 12 more in 129 matches since coming through their youth academy, which he joined at the age of seven.
Greenwood's final appearance in a Man United jersey came against West Ham United on January 22, 2022, while he made one appearance for England against Iceland in September 2020.
In his own statement, Greenwood denied the offences he had been accused of last year - as well as incorrectly stating that he was cleared of the charges - although he admitted that he had made "mistakes" in his relationship.
