AC Milan look set to beat Manchester United to the signature of Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo.
The 26-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer, has hit a stumbling block in negotiations with Fiorentina over a new deal, according to talkSPORT.
Despite interest from United, Milan are ready to table a bid for the Italy international.
Both sides would be free to talk to Montolivo during the January transfer window.
