Monaco are reportedly planning a big-money move for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer.
There have been questions hanging over the England international's future recently following United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to demote the 27-year-old to the bench for the Red Devils' Champions League exit to Real Madrid last week.
While Ferguson has insisted that Rooney will stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer, Monaco will try to mark their expected return to Ligue 1 by offering the striker a tax-free wage deal, according to the Daily Star.
Fellow French outfit Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be keen on signing the former Everton star.
