Manchester United manager David Moyes has refused to be drawn on reports that striker Wayne Rooney could be handed a new contract at Old Trafford.
Rumours have been rumbling recently that the England international could be poised for a new deal following the uncertainty around his future during the summer transfer window.
When asked about a possible contract extension for Rooney, Moyes said in a press conference: "I couldn't tell you about that just now. I don't know if any more has been said."
The 28-year-old, who has insisted that he is happy under Moyes following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at the end of last season, was the subject of two rejected bids from Chelsea in the summer.
