Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that Wayne Rooney is not for sale, following a summer of speculation regarding the England striker's future.
Moyes, in his first press conference as United manager, said that his former Everton player is motivated to perform for the Red Devils next season.
"Wayne is not for sale," Moyes said. "He is a Manchester United player and will remain a Manchester United player.
"I see a glint in his eye. He looks happy and looks like he will knuckle down and get himself right."
Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson following the latter's retirement in the summer.
