Newcastle United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Anthony Martial's situation at Manchester United, with the Magpies considering a January move for the Frenchman.
Martial has told the Red Devils that he wants to seek pastures new during the winter transfer window, and Sevilla have been strongly linked with the attacker's services.
The La Liga club allegedly cannot afford to pay the 26-year-old's full wages on a proposed loan deal, though, which could prevent them from signing him during the winter window.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are now monitoring the situation, as Eddie Howe's side want to sign an experienced forward following Callum Wilson's long-term calf injury.
The report claims that the Magpies had initially been targeting a younger striker this month, but Wilson's recent problem has forced the relegation-threatened club to change their plans.
Martial has only scored once in 10 appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign and will not be considered for selection amid the uncertainty surrounding his future. body check tags ::
