Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Newcastle United.

While the Magpies spent £93m on five new players during January, they are expected to go harder in the transfer market should they avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, the North-East giants are contemplating whether to get involved in the race to sign Pogba.

The World Cup winner has four-and-a-half months remaining on his contract, currently leaving him in line to depart Old Trafford on a free transfer.

As it stands, the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain appear to be the most likely destination for the France international.

Nevertheless, while that trio can theoretically hold discussions with Pogba regarding a pre-contract agreement, alleged interest from Newcastle may delay any decision on his future.
