Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Magpies, who are currently sitting in fifth position in the Premier League table, are well set to secure European football for next season.
They are also firmly in the hunt for the Champions League spots with two points separating them from fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played two games more.
With Newcastle's schedule expected to get a lot busier next term, they will want to strengthen their squad in the summer if they are to successfully balance domestic and European competition.
The middle of the park is one area that Eddie Howe is keen to bolster ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
According to Fichajes, the Magpies are keen to secure the services of Rabiot, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but as it proved, a transfer never materialised.
As a result, Rabiot has remained at Juventus, where he has scored nine goals and contributed four assists in 33 competitive games
Having started 22 of his 23 Serie A appearances this term, Rabiot has been a key player in Massimiliano Allegri's side, and his positive relationship with the Juventus boss could persuade him to stay with the Turin club.
Rabiot recently claimed that Allegri has "helped" him over the last couple of years, and he is open to the idea of signing an extension.
However, he also stated that he is yet to make a decision on his future, and as it stands, he will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
With 60 Champions League appearances to his name, Rabiot would bring vast European experience to the North-East if Newcastle were to be successful in their pursuit.
However, Rabiot is also attracting interest from the likes of Man United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
Rabiot is currently on international duty with the France squad, and he featured in the majority of Friday's 4-0 win over the Netherlands in Euro 2024 qualifying. body check tags ::
