Facundo Pellistri has suggested that he will be staying with Manchester United for the 2023-24 campaign despite the recent speculation surrounding his future.
The Uruguay international has been involved in his side's opening two matches of the new Premier League season, featuring off the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.
There remains widespread speculation when it comes to the 21-year-old, though, with a number of clubs believed to be keen to explore a loan deal before the end of the market.
Sheffield United are thought to have held talks with Man United to discuss potentially taking the attacker on loan for the season.
However, Pellistri, who has had two separate loan spells at La Liga club Alaves, has hinted that he will be remaining with the Red Devils this season.
"Being here, all the players are top players. So when you train here, you learn a lot. Every session is like being at Harvard because you have the best of the best. So, in training, you improve a lot.," Pellistri told Man United's official website.
"Last year, I stayed all the season and I improved a lot in all aspects. And, of course, to be here and to live the way United is, you also gain a lot of experience.
"We have very good players and the competition is there but we have good competition. We support each other. The one [who] is best in the moment will play because the important thing for all of us, for the group, is to achieve trophies.
"And the manager always says also that the important thing is the squad. Last year, the squad took an important role. So that's the way we see things - everyone can play. And you have to be all together to achieve great things."
Man United have only scored once in their opening two matches of the new Premier League season, with Raphael Varane netting the winner against Wolves on August 14.
Amad Diallo had been earmarked for a first-team role this term after a successful loan spell at Sunderland, but the Ivory Coast international is out with a problem that he picked up during pre-season.
Pellistri could therefore remain at Old Trafford to boost the options available to head coach Erik ten Hag in the final third of the field.
The South American made the move to Man United from Penarol in October 2020, and he has represented the club on 12 occasions, providing one assist in the process.
Pellistri, as it stands, is set to be in the squad for Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest, while there could allegedly also be a spot on the bench for new signing Rasmus Hojlund. body check tags ::
