Paul Pogba reportedly came close to joining Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window.
The France international was strongly linked with a move away from Manchester United ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, with Real Madrid and Juventus said to be in the hunt for the 2018 World Cup winner.
However, according to Sport Italia, Pogba actually came close to moving to PSG after his agent Mino Raiola approached the French champions to discuss a potential move.
The report claims that the speculation surrounding Marco Verratti's future led to the interest, but the fact that the midfielder remained in Paris - and ultimately signed a new deal - saw the move break down.
Pogba was heavily involved in United's preparations for the 2019-20 campaign and started the season in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first XI despite the widespread speculation surrounding his future.
The midfielder has missed eight of his team's last nine matches in all competitions, though, as he battles to overcome a troublesome ankle issue.
