Roma's Mehdi Benatia will remain with the Italian club for next season, manager Rudi Garcia has confirmed.

The defender has previously been rated by his club as a £50m player.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move for the 27-year-old this summer, according to The Express.

"Mehdi is under contract and will play with Roma this season," Garcia is quoted as saying. "Tomorrow Benatia will play against Liverpool."

The Moroccan defender started his career in France with Marseille.
