Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen for David de Gea to see out the final 12 months of his Manchester United contract before moving to Paris on a free transfer next summer.
De Gea, whose form dipped in the second half of the 2018-19 campaign, will see his contract with the 20-time English champions expire at the end of next season.
The two parties have been locked in talks for some time, but it is understood that the goalkeeper's wage demands are proving problematic.
The French champions are reportedly prepared to pay De Gea in the region of £400,000 a week, though, in order to convince him to move to Ligue 1.
According to The Express, PSG will encourage the 28-year-old to run down his contract at United ahead of a switch to the French capital, which would see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side miss out on a £60m transfer fee.
De Gea only kept seven clean sheets in 38 Premier League appearances during the 2018-19 campaign.
