Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could reportedly make the move to Qatar before their current transfer window closes on September 18.
The Netherlands international was widely expected to leave Old Trafford over the summer, with Real Sociedad, at one stage, thought to be in advanced discussions with the midfielder.
A potential switch to the Basque outfit ultimately fell through, while Lorient are also believed to have failed to revisit their earlier interest in Van de Beek after being unhappy with his initial reaction to joining the club.
Van de Beek continues to be linked with a switch to Turkey, with their transfer window open until September 15.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have been credited with an interest, although according to 90min, there has been no progression when it comes to a move to either club.
Both teams are said to be admirers of the 26-year-old, but a lot would have to happen in a short space of time for him to move to Turkey before the end of their transfer window.
The report claims that Qatar has emerged as a potential destination, with clubs from the country's top division closely monitoring the situation.
Man United had allegedly initially only been willing to sell Van de Beek this summer, viewing him as a player capable of raising a healthy transfer fee in the recent window.
However, it is understood that the 20-time English champions are now open to a loan departure, providing that there is an obligation to buy included in any agreement.
The Dutchman has been left out of Man United's Champions League squad and is not in Erik ten Hag's plans moving forward.
Van de Beek arrived at Old Trafford in September 2020 off the back of a successful spell at Ajax, but he has found it difficult to make his mark in Manchester.
The midfielder has only managed two goals and two assists in 60 appearances for Man United, while he also had an unsuccessful loan spell at Everton during the 2021-22 campaign.
The Red Devils, who are back in Premier League action against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, have Van de Beek on a contract until June 2025, with the option of a further 12 months. body check tags ::
