Marcus Rashford is said to have changed agents in order to help a transfer to Barcelona materialise in the summer transfer window.

When Manchester United allowed the Englishman to go on loan to Aston Villa, there were concerns that his career at the top level was over.

However, under the guidance of Unai Emery, Rashford has rediscovered his form and proved on the European stage against Paris Saint-Germain that he still possesses the ability to excel against the world's best.

The 27-year-old's relationship with United boss Ruben Amorim looks beyond repair, but his exit could benefit both him and his boyhood club by giving them the funds needed to reinforce in the summer.

A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that Rashford has changed agents and is now represented by Pini Zahavi, who has close ties to Barcelona and represents Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski.

Would Rashford make sense in Spain?

Barcelona have performed excellently this season and can count themselves unfortunate to have been eliminated from the Champions League when they lost against Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

They had to compete in both legs without Lewandowski, and considering he is 36 years old, he may not have a long-term future with the Spanish giants.

While Rashford is more comfortable operating in wide zones, he has considerable experience as a number nine, and his immense pace would offer creative winger Lamine Yamal a target to play towards.

What could United do with funds from Rashford exit?

It should also be noted that Rashford's status as a home-grown player means his sale would help United comply with spending rules more than the sale of someone such as Antony, who is currently on loan at Real Betis.

Given the Red Devils are 15th in the Premier League and have only scored 42 goals after 35 matchweeks, offensive reinforcements should be seen as a matter of priority.

Amorim could look to bring in an experienced striker such as Napoli's Victor Osimhen, but he may also hold interest in younger forwards such as Ipswich Town's Liam Delap. body check tags ::
