RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has said that Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick "loves" the German club's midfielder Amadou Haidara.
Rangnick has allegedly identified Haidara as a leading target for the 20-time English champions ahead of the January transfer window.
When asked about the interest from the Red Devils, Mintzlaff confirmed that the English club's new interim head coach is a huge admirer of the Mali international.
"Of course, he is also a player that Ralf Rangnick loves," Mintzlaff told reporters.
Rangnick signed the 23-year-old for Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2018, and there is believed to be a £33m release clause in the midfielder's contract.
However, according to RB Live, Mintzlaff said during the same press conference that he was hopeful that Leipzig would be able to remove the buy-out fee that currently exists.
Haidara has again been a key player for the Red Bulls during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring three times in 17 appearances in all competitions.
