Real Madrid are reportedly attempting to fast-track a deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

Despite his status as a key player at San Siro, Kessie seems increasingly likely to depart the Italian giants in the summer with less than six months remaining on his contract.

While Milan will likely continue with their efforts to try to tempt the Ivory Coast international into penning fresh terms, a wide array of clubs are keen on signing the 25-year-old.

According to El Nacional, Real Madrid want to win the race for his signature and are prepared to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.

Although Los Blancos are not short of options in the centre of the pitch, several of their current crop of players are the wrong side of 30.

The report suggests that Real officials want to ensure that Kessie does not sign for La Liga rivals Barcelona, while the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the situation.
