Manchester United attacker Bruno Fernandes is reportedly a transfer target for Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old has been a key player for the Red Devils since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, representing the club on 146 occasions, contributing 53 goals and 42 assists in the process.
Fernandes has again been an important player for Man United this season, making 20 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists in the process.
The midfielder is currently representing Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, and he has starred for Fernando Santos's side in the tournament thus far, scoring two goals and registering two assists in two appearances.
Fernandes signed a new contract with Man United in April, with his current terms due to run until June 2026, with the option of a further 12 months.
The midfielder has also sported the captain's armband at Old Trafford this season due to the absence of Harry Maguire, who is now down the pecking order in terms of the centre-back spots.
Fernandes is likely to be named the team's permanent captain next summer if Maguire departs, with the centre-back said to be available for transfer.
However, according to Record, Real Madrid are huge admirers of the Portuguese and are keen to explore the possibility of bringing him to Bernabeu.
The report claims that Los Blancos considered moving for the attacker during his time at Sporting Lisbon, and the club remain huge admirers of his talents.
Fernandes allegedly feels 'satisfied and complete' at Man United, but the midfielder is refusing to 'close the door on a step forward' in his career.
The former Sporting playmaker provided two assists in Portugal's Group H opener against Ghana on November 24, which ended in a 3-2 victory for Santos's side.
Fernandes then scored twice in the 2-0 success over Uruguay last time out, with the result sending A Selecao into the knockout round of the competition with a game to spare.
Real Madrid are expected to be in the market for at least one new central midfielder next year, as both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will see their contracts expire in June 2023.
Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham is said to be the club's leading target, while there have also been claims that West Ham United's Declan Rice is admired by Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti. body check tags ::
