Real Madrid have reportedly reopened contract talks with Raphael Varane, as the La Liga giants attempt to fight off interest from Manchester United in the France international.
Varane has allegedly emerged as Man United's leading centre-back target this summer, while Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest.
A recent report claimed that the Red Devils had made an opening £50m offer for the 28-year-old, who is currently representing his country at the European Championship.
However, according to The Times, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are now facing the possibility of missing out on the Frenchman, as Real Madrid have reopened contract discussions.
The report claims that Los Blancos are reluctant to lose both Sergio Ramos, who is leaving the club on a free transfer, and Varane ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
Varane's current deal with Carlo Ancelotti's side is due to expire next June, and it is thought that he is keen to seek pastures new this summer after spending 10 years in the Spanish capital. body check tags ::
