Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly pushing for the Red Devils to sign Flamengo youngster Lorran during the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old has scored twice and registered three assists in 31 appearances for Flamengo, and it is understood that he is on the radar of a number of major European clubs.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City are all believed to be tracking the teenager, but according to journalist Ekrem Konur, he is also a leading target for Man United.

Konur claims that Amorim is desperate for the Red Devils to sign the Brazilian in January, and there is hope that Flamengo will let him depart for less than his release clause in the winter market.

Amorim 'eyeing January deal' for Flamengo star Lorran

The release clause in Lorran's contract is believed to be €50m (£41.8m), but there is said to be room for negotiation, with the Brazilian team not in a position to reject a sizeable offer from a major club.

Lorran signed his first professional contract with Flamengo in July 2022, while his first senior goal came last January, with the strike against Bangu seeing him become the club's youngest-ever goalscorer at the age of 16 years, six months and 20 days old.

The teenager has shown his versatility by operating on the right and the left during his time in the Flamengo first team, but his primary position is an attacking midfielder.

Will Amorim have money to spend in January?

Due to financial limitations, there will not be a huge amount of money available to Amorim in January, with the club spending heavily during the summer transfer window.

Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all arrived during the most recent market, and a recent report claimed that 'there is only modest finance' available for the winter window.

However, Man United are planning to be active, with German journalist Florian Plettenberg recently claiming that the club could make two signings at the start of 2025.

The 20-time English champions allegedly want to bring in 'an affordable striker', while a central midfielder is also believed to be wanted, as Amorim looks to make his mark at Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka is believed to be on the club's radar, with the Germany international thought to be frustrated with his current position at Allianz Arena. body check tags ::
