Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has reportedly completed his medical at Manchester United ahead of a loan switch to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old has emerged as Man United's first-choice left-back target over the last 24 hours, with the Red Devils cooling their interest in Chelsea's Marc Cucurella.
Reguilon is believed to have been given permission to travel to Manchester on Thursday afternoon to undergo a medical with the 20-time English champions.
According to The Athletic, all of the medical examinations have now been completed, and an announcement surrounding his loan move to Old Trafford is imminent.
The report claims that Man United will not pay a fee for Reguilon, while there is no option to make the move permanent during next summer's transfer window, but the club will pay his full wages.
As it stands, the defender will spend the 2023-24 campaign on loan with Erik ten Hag's side, although there is a break clause in January, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both expected back by then.
Reguilon was linked with Man United in 2020 when it became clear that he would be leaving Real Madrid, but the Spaniard ultimately made the switch to Tottenham.
The full-back has played 67 times for Spurs in all competitions, including 52 appearances in the Premier League, but he spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, featuring 12 times.
Man United had not initially been looking to sign a new left-back late in the window, but Shaw is facing up to 10 weeks out with a muscular problem.
Malacia is also currently out with a muscular issue of his own, while Brandon Williams recently departed on loan, leaving the Red Devils short of senior options at left-back.
Diogo Dalot played in that position against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and is again expected to line up on the left side of the defence against Arsenal this weekend.
However, Reguilon could potentially be on the bench for the clash at the Emirates Stadium depending on when an official announcement over his move arrives.
Man United are also still working on a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, while the Red Devils are set to confirm the signing of Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce. body check tags ::
