Portuguese giants Benfica have reportedly slapped a £20m asking price on Manchester Untied target, and former Chelsea reject, Nemanja Matic.
Red Devils manager David Moyes is scouting across Europe to find a solution to the team's central midfield problem that he failed to address in the summer.
The Scot returned to his former club Everton to recruit Marouane Fellaini, but the Belgian has yet to convince the Premier League champions that he is capable of making the step up.
According to The Mirror, Moyes has identified Serbian international Matic, who was a makeweight in Chelsea's signing of David Luiz from Benfica in 2011, as somebody to potentially pursue in January.
However, the report also claims that it would take a bid of at least £20m for Benfica to agree to part with Matic, 25, who did not make a single first-team start in his one season at Stamford Bridge.
