Manchester United have reportedly edged ahead in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay by opening talks with the Dutchman.
The 21-year-old is believed to be wanted by the Red Devils, as well as their arch rivals Liverpool and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
PSV sporting director Marcel Brands recently stated that Liverpool and PSG were in the driving seat for Depay's signature, but according to one Dutch publication, things have changed.
Media outlet AD.nl reports that United manager Louis van Gaal has spoken to the in-demand player and the Premier League heavyweights are now favourites to seal a £25m deal in the summer.
Depay, who has already spoken to PSG and Liverpool, has scored 21 goals in 28 games in the Eredivisie.
