Manchester United are reportedly considering a January swoop for Real Madrid defender Pepe.
The 33-year-old, who remains a key figure at the Bernabeu, is approaching the final six months of his deal at Real Madrid and will be free to discuss terms with foreign clubs in the January transfer window.
Last month, Pepe revealed that he wanted to "retire" at Real Madrid, but it is understood that he wants a two-year extension, rather than the 12-month deal which is currently on the table.
According to Calciomercato.com, Man United boss Jose Mourinho, who worked with the centre-back in Spain, wants to add experience to his backline and will launch a cut-price offer in the winter transfer window.
Pepe, who moved to the Bernabeu from Porto in 2007, has made 324 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, winning two Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns in the process.
